More Info

The existing wooden doors were in poor condition having been installed more than 20 years ago. BES recommended, installed and commissioned the Jewers Doors “Swift” bi-folding door for this project. Each door was 3,600mm x 3,600mm.

BES also fabricated and installed the support structures to accommodate the new doors.

BES worked closely with NIFRS staff, to ensure that the day to day running of this busy facility was not hindered during the work. To minimise any disruption BES undertook the installation in three separate phases with each of the 3 bays (front and rear) having their new doors fully installed and commissioned prior to work starting on the next bay. LED indication lights and local sounders were installed to assist the drivers of the Fire Tenders, giving them clear indication when the doors are fully open and therefore safe to exit the station.

The doors were completed within the designated contract period, and are designed to give at least 25-years’ service.
