Newry Fire Station, Newry – Replacement doors
BES were appointed the contractor in late 2016 to supply and install 6 replacement doors at Newry Fire Station. The existing doors were more than 20 years old and were proving unreliable.
BES supplied and installed 6 Hormann ALR F42 Fully Glazed Sectional Doors for 3 bays.
The front doors of the fire station are fully automated and open when a fire signal is received. As the doors open on overhead tracks they open quickly allowing rapid vehicle exit. The fully glazed nature of the doors allows for full natural light to enter the building whilst at the same time providing unrestricted visions for the drivers on exit.
Two of the 3 rear doors were fitted with a Wicket Door to enable pedestrian access.
The fire station remained operational throughout the door installation process which was undertaken by a 3-man BES installation team (Fitter, Helper and Electrician).
